New Jersey, also called the Garden State, is the part of the Mid-Atlantic region. The suburbs of New York City are found in the Northern part of the state, which are Newark, Jersey City, Elizabeth and Patterson. Apart from these industrial cities, the density of the population decreases when heading towards the South. We find nice, smaller cities and cultured green areas. The coastline of the Atlantic-Ocean is sandy; the internal regions are hilly, covered with pine tree forests.
