The central and Eastern parts of Kansas are flatlands and somewhat hilly, its Western part is bordered by the Rocky Mountains. Its altitude above sea-level gradually rises from East to West. The majority of the settlements are found on the central and Eastern part of the state, its Western side is sparsely populated. The largest cities are situated on the Eastern side, which are: Overland Park, Leavenworth, Topeka, Lawrence and Manhattan, the cities in the central region are: Salina, Hutchinson and Wichita. Kansas features well-developed agriculture, it is one of the largest grain producing areas of the USA.

If you have a little more time to spend, visit the sparsely populated territories on the West. You’ll find Dodge City, which you may already know from Western movies. It was once the homes of Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson. The Boot Hill Museum cites the atmosphere of the former Wild West.
