The majority of North Dakota is an expanded flatland. Its height above sea-level gradually rises from East to West. There’s a small mountain in the South-Western region, with a highest peak of 3506 feet, called the White Butte. The state is one of the least sparsely populated states in the USA, with a really low density. The most populous cities are Bismarck, Grand Forks and Fargo.

The largest city of North Dakota is Fargo, which is situated near the border with Minnesota State. It is the home the North Dakota State University. It’s worth to visit the Plains Art Museum, which has an exhibition about the history of the native Indians, and the beautiful animal park, the Red River Zoo.

The city of Bismarck lies on the riverside of the Missouri River. It is the capital of North Dakota, and also the administrative center of the state. The building of the State Capitol is 19-storey tall and more than 70 years old. The North Dakota Heritage Center introduces the history of the state to its guests, while the Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park is a memorial place.

The third most populous city of North Dakota is Grand Folks, which lies near the border with Minnesota State. It is the home of the University of North Dakota. The North Dakota Museum of Art has an interesting collection waiting for us.

If you’re able to spend a little more time in the state, go and visit the Little Missouri National Grassland, which is situated in the South-Western region. Here you’ll find the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, where you may take part in a fantastic adventure trip, or visit the amazing Painted Canyon.
